Principal's Message

Dear Toyon Middle School Students and Parents,

The staff is eager to welcome our students to Toyon Middle School for what promises to be a productive school year for all. We are pleased to announce that Toyon Middle School has two new administrators starting the 2023-2024 school year. Principal Heather James, who has served as the principal at Mokelumne Hill Elementary School and as an assistant principal at Calaveras High School and is new to CUSD, Dr. Sean Moffatt, who comes to our school with significant experience in administration. We are excited to be welcoming several new staff to our school and are excited for what the 2023-24 school year holds.   

We are pleased to include you as a part of the Toyon Middle School family. We strongly believe that communication is essential to a successful school program and we encourage families to participate in school activities and/or organizations. Feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns you may have. Your support will go a long way in making this a successful school year!

This handbook is designed to help our students and their families understand the overall expectations in order to have a positive experience at Toyon Middle School. Our collective goal is to create an environment that encourages our students to engage with multiple educational partners in strategic ways, in order to build, implement, and sustain a positive school culture that ultimately allows all students the opportunity to thrive in middle school and beyond.
